Our FIOT™ Vision is to support the total person physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Our services

The FIOT™ team provide educational services that support parents and professionals who care for or work with babies and toddlers, both nationally and internationally.  FIOT™ supports both the Euro-American and Bi-cultural lens of parenting practices.  This unique and specialized approach of exploring confident and insecure behavior is based on a 3-tier approach. It is research-based and yet amplified, to include the modern challenges of today’s parents and life styles, to recognize and identify root causes of challenging behavior in babies and toddlers, to better support their inner confidence and growth; their mental health!

Committed to safety, equity, diversity, inclusion, and choice, we place service above self and encourage our team to do all they can to exceed expectations.  We hold the sacred space of the parent/adult-infant relationship and honor our role as educators, consultants, coaches, mentors, advisors, and trainers.

Parent Coaching

FIOT™ Parent Coaches are experts who specialize in supporting parents to read and understand their baby’s unique developmental cues.  We help educate through a partnering relationship with parents and provide the opportunity to explore with focused observation; respectful, intentional, and culturally sensitive practices with their baby during play and caregiving activities, (e.g., feeding, diapering, bathing, and preparing for sleep).

Parent-Infant Consultations & Screening

Our team has been trained in the pioneering FIOT™ Social Emotional Screening Tool to provide parents with a culturally sensitive, research-based method to track their baby’s behavioral patterns and levels of confidence during play.

Parent-Infant Classes

FIOT™ Parent Infant classes are designed to provide a safe space for parents to learn and develop their observation skills of the baby.  We discuss various parenting practices based on best practices in early childhood in collaboration and respect for cultural influences. Our coaches partner with parents to work together to develop realistic respectful expectations and strategies to support the daily interactions with infants and toddlers.  The goal is to support you on this amazingly complex and beautiful journey…called parenting.

Our classes are structured in small groups of infants and parents. The observation classes are based on the developmental age range of the baby.  Our discussion play-based classes are inclusive and all babies are welcomed!  There is no question off limits, (e.g., bonding, sleep, tantrums, feeding, social-emotional, child development, challenging behavior, and more).

Social Emotional Developmental Screenings with FIOT tool

The FIOT™ (Fisher Infant Observation Tool) is a 10-item observational screening tool designed to accommodate parents, caregivers, and any adult who interacts with infants in a caregiving and relational capacity.  The FIOT created in 2002 is intended to measure and track confident or insecure behavior in infants.  It is designed to be sensitive to infants and parents of dominant and bicultural perspectives.  The FIOT is not a labeling tool, but strictly serves as a screening of infant patterns of behavior at a particular stage of development.

Professional Lectures/Discussions/Presentations

The development of the FIOT™ method to support infant confident behavior and healthy parent/adult infant relationships is rooted in time-tested child development theory and research conducted over the past 20 years.  Our Founder and Principle Investigator, Dr. Angela Fisher-Solomon has spent many years examining attachment theory and social emotional root causes to fear and insecurity in children before the age of three.  Some previous lectures and presentations at professional conferences include: World Association of Infant Mental Health, Birth to Three Conference (ZEROTOTHREE) among others.

“Angela Fisher-Solomon is a kind, patient warm soul. In my deepest despair my daughter Danni who was 9 months old, still had not rolled over. Angela came to my house with her bright smile and calm spirit. After just 2 hours with Danni on the floor I noticed a difference. I felt more confident and less anxious. Within 48 hours of following Angela's lead, Danni rolled over! I always look at Angela as my miracle worker!”
